Tunisian Diplomatic Training Institute

The Diplomatic College is affiliated to the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has a construction scale of 12,000 square meters, including the construction of teaching facilities and the provision of necessary office equipment.

The Tunisian side hopes to improve teaching conditions, expand the scale of diplomatic training, and at the same time provide venues for the foreign affairs activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, and build a diplomatic talent training center for Arab and African countries that is in line with international standards. In August of that year, Arcplus Group design team went to the local area to investigate with two different plans and discussed with representatives of the representatives and architects. However, neither plan was passed immediately. The Chinese team originally wanted to use Tunisian traditional architectural elements to design a low-rise courtyard-style building, while the Tunisian preferred modern and future-oriented design. The Director of the Department of Architecture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia made an explanation with hand drawings overnight, highlighting the sense of sculpture and volume, and hoped that the most valued academic lecture hall would be "large" and "tall" at the same time. Eventually, the lecture hall was placed in a more obvious position, with the dome introduced, and the entrances and exits directly embraced the urban roads. The design proposal reflects the sense of sculpture and volume proposed by the Director of the Department of Architecture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia. The overall appearance of the building is soaring lightly, which also expresses China's best wishes for Tunisia's diplomatic cause.

The architectural design satisfied Mondher Dhraief, the dean of the Tunisian Diplomatic Academy. The project embodies the blend of friendship and wisdom between the two countries. After its completion, it will become a training base for Tunisian diplomats and a window for the country to display its external image, as well as a symbol of Sino-Tunisian cooperation. On May 3, 2019, Tunisian President Béji Caïd Essebsi attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the China-aid Tunisian Diplomatic Training Institute project.
