New Development Bank Headquarter Building
On December 17, 2020, the completion ceremony of the New Development Bank Headquarter Building project was grandly held.
The New Development Bank is an intergovernmental international financial organization initiated and founded by the “BRICS countries”. In order to actively fulfill its responsibilities and obligations as a headquarter city, the Shanghai Municipal Government has funded the construction of the New Development Bank headquarter building.
The headquarter building of the New Development Bank is located in the ecological function zone of the former Expo A area in Shanghai Pudong New District. The New Development Bank is the first international financial organization headquartered in Shanghai, with complex and diverse functions. The architectural design starts from the corporate value, reflects the innovative, equal, transparent, and sustainable corporate culture and value concept of the New Development Bank, realizes the design of safe, efficient, humane, and healthy office space, and achieves three-star green building, three-star healthy building, and LEED platinum level.
At the as-built ceremony, Mr. Marcos, the president of New Development Bank, praised that “the design of headquarter building is beyond the general sense of the office building. It is a landmark work of art”. With the settlement of New Development Bank headquarter building, it will provide good office environment for the employees of the New Development Bank, becoming an inclusive and open home for employees from all over the world, and will also serve as a new landmark in the international city Shanghai to gather all guests and collaborate with each other, and make contributions to the construction and development of Shanghai International Financial Center.
