A world-class ecological corridor- Erhai
The ecological restoration project of the Erhai lakeside buffer zone focuses on ecological protection, taking into account the functions of health care, characteristic cultural implantation, tourist destination creation, and smart management and control, so as to realize the concept of ecological “plus” and strive to build a world-class ecological corridor.
The project, through the construction of functional wetlands, forms an ecological barrier in Erhai and land boundary zone, which has a huge demonstration and guiding significance for the waterfront space of lakes in our country.
On the basis of sorting out the current situation and mining actual needs, the design puts forward a strategy of “protection +” , hoping to build an ecological pattern, to divide ecologically sensitive areas, building low-disturbance ecological facilities, and establishing ecological monitoring operation system to protect the ecological environment of the Erhai on the premise of ensuring the water quality. By injecting humanistic connotation, reshaping functional style, linking regional industries and driving urban development, it seeks to shape the harmonious development of human and nature, and create a “world-class characteristic ecological corridor of plateau lakes” integrating ecology, style, humanities and management.
In the future, Erhai will be a self-renewing ecological waterfront. Wetlands, birds, and plants will coexist harmoniously throughout the entire region. It will be a sustainable green waterfront integrating ecology, style, culture, and management, and will also connect to Cangshan and become an ecological corridor featuring world-class plateau lakes.
