Pudong International Airport (Phase II), 2004
After its establishment, the Group has participated in the construction of a large number of large projects; for example, CCTV new site construction project in 2002, Deng Xiaoping's former residence showroom in 2003, Sri Lanka HAVELOCK CITY project and Shanghai light source project in 2004, Shenyang Olympic Sports Center stadium project and the first high-rise building in northern Jiangsu--Nantong International Trade Center in 2006, Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway Shanghai Hongqiao Station new building’s superstructure and the main building, structure, mechanical and electrical design of no-platform-column awning, and interior decoration and landscape in 2010. Among them, the signing of the Group’s Pudong International Airport Phase II "Construction Project Design General Contract" in 2004 witnessed the first time a Chinese design institution working as project manager of a large domestic aviation building. In 2002, the Shanghai Stadium, in 2004, BOC Tower, in 2008, main teaching building of University of Chongqing, in 2010, Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility won the Zhan Tianyou Award, one of the highest honor awards (in civil engineering field) recognized by the Ministry of Construction. These landmarks play a key role in the country's political construction, cultural prosperity and economic development, establishing the Group's leading edge in the architectural design market and settling the Group's position in the world's architectural design industry.
Hongqiao Comprehensive Transportation Hub, 2010
During the design of Pudong International Airport Phase II, the Owner selected Rogers and L&B of the UK to develop shop drawings for the building, and asked the East China Institute to develop solutions for comparison. East China Institute, with its understanding of the project and the professional experience of airport design, put forward constructive solutions and ideas for the Owner. Later, after a detailed study, the Owner felt that the overseas idea was not the only choice, and the design in China was not necessarily inferior to international designs, and finally made the decision to let the East China Institute do the original design of the Pudong Airport T2 terminal, and be responsible for the project’s general contracting of design.

Pudong International Airport (Phase II) under construction, 2004
As a national key scientific experimental device project, the design of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility can be described as "tackling tough issues" everywhere. With its unique body, unique structure, how to meet the demand of scientific innovation? How does design fit with architectural functions? Fire protection, temperature control, ground being uneven and settles, micro-vibration control......all need to be tackled. In the whole design process of the facility, there are as many as 8 scientific research proposal approvals, in which 5 received national patent; especially the analysis and study of facility structure will provide important reference for the design of future special buildings, which will play a positive role in further promoting the development of national engineering technologies.
